I started as a teacher at Washington Elementary, and I was given a lot of opportunities to grow when I expressed interest in leadership. My principal was great about providing new experiences on campus and within the district to gain experience and help me decide if campus administration was the right path for me. There was so much support from the central office and my campus, even other principals offering to collaborate. It played a huge part in getting me to where I am today.

As a SHS grad, I was fortunate to be taught and later mentored by teachers who saw something in me that I hadn't yet seen in myself. They encouraged me to pursue education and modeled for me what it meant to lead with integrity and passion. Coming back to teach here has been a full circle moment! It is a privilege to be "Building Bearcats" and pour into students what was once poured into me.

Sherman has expanded in the last few years, adding to the sense of progress and our community’s investment in the future of Sherman. In turn, students strive to be their best because they know the school district and the community believes in them. We work hard at SISD to make students feel loved, appreciated, and a part of something bigger than themselves.

At my campus, we strive to bring out the best in each other! Being part of a team that shares the same values and goals for our students and each other creates a joyful, supportive work environment. My colleagues have become a second family to me.

The most rewarding thing about working for Sherman ISD Transportation is that I get to do something I love every day, the opportunity to witness the growth of my students, and make a positive impact on their lives.

I choose to work in Sherman ISD because of the people. We have a great family here and we are always helping one another. There are a lot of opportunities to grow and help others to grow as well. I get the satisfaction of reaching a goal and being a part of a team that works together.
