We are intentionally growing individuals who are not just great learners, but they're also confident and resilient, and they persevere. At my campus, we strive to bring out the best in each other! Being part of a team that shares the same values and goals for our students and each other creates a joyful, supportive work environment. My colleagues have become a second family to me.

I feel like I'm part of a family. We tend to help each other and make sure everything's accomplished at the end of the day. The best part is having a set schedule, so after four o'clock, I can relax. There's no stress or anything.

I started as a teacher at Washington Elementary, and I was given a lot of opportunities to grow when I expressed interest in leadership. My principal was great about providing new experiences on campus and within the district to gain experience and help me decide if campus administration was the right path for me. There was so much support from the central office and my campus, even other principals offering to collaborate. It played a huge part in getting me to where I am today.

I think Building Bearcats means teaching and educating young people to be better community members and citizens. Someone who is going to go forward and be a better spouse or parent or employee or boss. It means giving them the tools that they need to be successful and enter the world a little more prepared for whatever it is they choose to do.

The most rewarding thing about working for Sherman ISD Transportation is that I get to do something I love every day, the opportunity to witness the growth of my students, and make a positive impact on their lives.

As a SHS grad, I was fortunate to be taught and later mentored by teachers who saw something in me that I hadn't yet seen in myself. They encouraged me to pursue education and modeled for me what it meant to lead with integrity and passion. Coming back to teach here has been a full circle moment! It is a privilege to be "Building Bearcats" and pour into students what was once poured into me.

I choose to work in Sherman ISD because of the people. We have a great family here and we are always helping one another. There are a lot of opportunities to grow and help others to grow as well. I get the satisfaction of reaching a goal and being a part of a team that works together.
