SHS cheerleaders perform a routine on the football field

Sherman ISD offers cheerleading starting in sixth grade. Cheer builds teamwork, discipline, responsibility and athleticism within students, and it teaches the importance of communication and respect. Cheerleaders accompany teams to games and promote school spirit through pep rallies and school activities, and cheer teams compete in NCA, UCA and UIL spirit competitions. Cheer teams may also be requested to represent their campus at community events.
