Sherman Athletic Booster Club

The Sherman Athletic Booster Club supports Sherman High School athletes and coaches in all sports all yearlong, promoting Bearcat pride by organizing special events or fundraising for teams. The Booster Club generally meets the first Monday of the month at 6 p.m. in the MAC classroom.

Scholarships

The Sherman Athletic Booster Club offers scholarship opportunities to graduating seniors who are in good standing and qualify based on the requirements of each listed scholarship opportunity.

Jerry Cantrell Scholarship

The Cantrell family and the Sherman Athletic Booster Club are committed to helping Sherman High School athletes continue their education in college. A scholarship in the amount of $500 will be awarded annually to one football player. Scholarship funds will be awarded to the student recipients upon evidence of registration in an accredited higher educational institution.

Criteria and Eligibility:

Applicant must be a student in good standing at Sherman High School.
Applicant must have a 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Athlete must have played at least (2) years of football for Sherman High School.
Athletes are not eligible if awarded a NCAA Division 1 athletic scholarship.
Applicant must demonstrate a dedication to bettering themselves academically by working to obtain a college degree.
Athletes do not need to play a sport in college in order to be eligible for the scholarship.

Application Process:

Applicant must complete the application form through the SISD Athletic Website.
Applicant must submit a copy of their acceptance letter from an accredited college or university.

Tommy Hudspeth Scholarship

The Tommy Hudspeth Family and the Sherman Athletic Booster Club are committed to helping Sherman High School athletes continue their dreams beyond high school. A scholarship in the amount of $500 or more will be awarded annually to one male or female athlete. Scholarship funds will be awarded to the student recipients upon evidence of registration in an accredited higher educational institution.

Criteria and Eligibility:

Applicant must be a student in good standing at Sherman High School.
Applicant must have a 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Applicant must have participated in at least one sport at Sherman High School.
Applicant must demonstrate dedication to his or her chosen sport as well as a commitment to bettering themselves academically by working to obtain a college degree.

Trenell Walker Scholarship

Trenell Walker and the Sherman Athletic Booster Club are committed to helping Sherman High School athletes continue their dream of competing in their chosen sport at the collegiate level. A scholarship in the amount of $500 or more will be awarded annually to one male and one female athlete. Scholarship funds will be awarded to the student recipients upon evidence of registration in an accredited higher educational institution.

Criteria and Eligibility:

Applicant must be a student in good standing at Sherman High School.
Applicant must have a 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Applicant must possess a letter of intent from an accredited higher educational institution to play a sport.
Applicant must demonstrate dedication to his or her chosen sport as well as a commitment to bettering themselves academically by working to obtain a college degree.

Application Process:

Applicant must complete the application form through the SISD Athletic Website.
Applicant must submit a copy of their Letter of Intent demonstrating their commitment to play a collegiate sport.

Lange Scholarship

The Lange Family and the Sherman Athletic Booster Club are committed to helping Sherman High School athletes continue their dreams beyond high school. A scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded annually to one male and one female basketball player. Scholarship funds will be awarded to the student recipients upon evidence of registration in an accredited higher education institution.

Criteria and Eligibility:

Applicant must be a student in good standing at Sherman High School.
Applicant must have a 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Applicant must have participated in at least one sport at Sherman High School.
Applicant must demonstrate dedication to his or her chosen sport as well as a commitment to bettering themselves academically by working to obtain a college degree.
