SOAR Academy

Students facing expulsion from Sherman ISD or other participating Grayson County districts are educated at the Grayson County Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP) or SOAR Academy. This program, required for Texas counties with a population greater than 125,000, provides another avenue for students facing more serious disciplinary infractions to continue to be served educationally. The primary goal of a JJAEP is to reduce delinquency and increase accountability and rehabilitation in young offenders.

Transportation to and from SOAR Academy is the responsibility of the student’s parents, and students transition back to their home school and district following the successful completion of their placement in the program.
