Special Programs

The principal shakes the hand of a graduate while two other staff stand near.

Sherman ISD serves students in special programs based on their individual needs: Jefferson Learning Center, DAEP, SOAR Academy, and Grayson County Post-Adjudication.

  • Jefferson Learning Center is a self-paced, accelerated program seeking to address unique needs in an alternative setting. Sherman High School students can apply to enroll at Jefferson.
  • The Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) is located next to the Sherman ISD Service Center and serves students who must be separate from a regular classroom environment.
  • Students facing expulsion from SISD or other participating Grayson County districts will be educated at SOAR Academy, the Grayson County Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP).
  • Court-adjudicated student residents are taught by Sherman ISD staff at one of the Grayson County Post-Adjudication Facilities.
