Career & Technical Education
Sherman ISD Career & Technical Education cultivates the potential in our students by integrating rigorous classroom instruction with relevant, work-based experiences that inspire, guide and empower our Bearcats for post-secondary college and career success.
The vast majority of high school students take at least one CTE course each year, with numerous programs of study and industry-based certifications for them to choose from. These opportunities provide real-world training and credentials that graduates can utilize to enter the workforce in their chosen career path. In addition, middle school students have the opportunity to explore possible careers through course offerings in College and Career Exploration, Robotics, STEM, Principles of Hospitality and Tourism, Principles of Business Marketing and Finance, and Principles of Nursing Science.
College, Career and Military Readiness
It is Sherman ISD's goal to build Bearcats to be ready for success in their career, college or military role. In addition to offering robust programs, we support students with academic planning and cultivate partnerships with local industry and higher education institutions to help prepare students for life after high school.
