Five New Schools

Three brand-new elementary schools will open their doors to students and teachers in the 2025-26 school year: Parker Elementary, opening at a new school site in northwest Sherman adjacent to the Heritage Ranch master-planned community, along with replacement campuses for Crutchfield and Fairview elementary schools.

Construction on a new early childhood center is expected to begin in summer 2025 at the current site of Wakefield Elementary, bringing SISD’s Pre-Kindergarten and Head Start programs together in one location to improve efficiency and better serve students.

A second new elementary school is also funded through the district’s 2023 bond program and will be built in South Sherman at a location still to be determined.

SHS Stadium & Additions

Construction is underway on an 8,000-seat multipurpose stadium at Sherman High School that will be ready for student athletes, coaches and fans in summer 2026. The stadium and adjacent site improvements will serve a variety of athletic and fine arts programs, including football, soccer, track and field, band, cheer, Hi-Steppers and more.

Approximately 900 new parking spaces will also be added to serve the stadium and high school. In addition, a 33,000 square foot-expansion to the main high school campus will add 20 classrooms and allow the school to serve more than 500 additional students.
