Sherman ISD is grateful to receive a $2.6 million, two-year investment to expand STEM education and opportunities for students and teachers across the district. Funded by the Texas Instruments (TI) Foundation through Educate Texas, the TI Foundation STEM Implementation Grant will strengthen instruction, provide additional resources, and enhance hands-on learning for students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. The investment will support:

  • Strengthening conceptual math and science instruction across grade levels.
  • Expanding project-based learning and makerspaces.
  • Building teacher and leadership capacity through professional learning and coaching.
  • Increasing college and career readiness opportunities.
  • Aligning student pathways with Grayson College, regional employers, and the region's growing semiconductor and advanced manufacturing workforce.

STEM Pioneer Campuses

The TI Foundation STEM Implementation Grant will support the development of a comprehensive STEM ecosystem that prepares Sherman ISD students for success in college, careers, and life. In the 2026-27 school year, three schools have been identified as STEM Pioneer campuses:

  • Dillingham Elementary
  • Piner Middle School
  • Sherman High School (Science Department)

By laying the foundation for STEM culture across SISD, these campuses will lead the way in fostering real-world problem solving skills, sharpening students' curiosity and creativity, and equipping them for modern careers. Educate Texas will provide professional learning, educator coaching, grant management, and data collection and analysis to support the districtwide STEM transformation in Sherman ISD.
