About

Fairview Student Smiles at the Camera

Sherman Independent School District is the largest and fastest-growing public school district serving Grayson County, Texas. With about 7,500 students across 16 campuses, Sherman ISD offers a wide variety of classes and programs to meet students’ unique needs and interests.

Whether a student is bound for college, the workforce or the military, there are numerous opportunities in Sherman ISD to prepare them for lifelong success.

Our public school district, which serves students in preschool through 12th grade, is located in the heart of Texoma, 65 miles north of Dallas. With several major employers expanding in Sherman and 26 actively building subdivisions within the district's boundaries, student enrollment is expected to increase to more than 9,200 students by 2030 and nearly 12,000 students by 2035.

Our new, 550,000-square-foot high school opened its doors in 2021 with modern, innovative facilities and expanded in 2025 to meet the needs of our growing community. Five new schools are further enhancing the learning environment thanks to voter support of the 2023 bond program. Three new elementary schools opened in fall 2025, and a new stadium at Sherman High School will open in 2026 to serve athletic and fine arts programs.
