Mrs. Susan Miles
Susan Miles joins Sherman High School after working as a lead teacher at Cooke, Fannin, Grayson County Boot Camp in Sherman ISD. During her tenure at Boot Camp, the educational team was awarded the Sherman ISD Team of the Month Award for creating a positive campus culture and improving academic success. Prior to that, she served for three years as a teacher for the Tri-County Juvenile Detention Center. She has served four years as a special education and ESL teacher and two years as a transition counselor.
Ms. Miles brings to the position twelve years of successful teaching, advising and counseling experience. She has worked with numerous at-risk students, has extensive experience in drop-out prevention and intervention programs and has led high-performing educational teams.
Her successful teaching and counseling performance has allowed her to serve in numerous educational leadership capacities such as: Campus Lead Teacher, ESL/LPAC committee chair, member of the Campus Improvement Team, Campus Testing Administrator and a member of SBDM team.
Ms. Miles earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Tulsa. She then attended Oklahoma State University and earned a Master of Arts degree in Applied Behavioral Studies in Education. She holds teacher certificates in Special Education, ESL, Generalist 4-8, Speech and is also a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor. She later pursued her Principal Certification from Lamar University.
Ms. Miles is excited about this new opportunity and looking forward to offering her experience and skills to work with the administration, teachers, staff and students at Sherman High School.
