Mr. Scott Johnston
For the previous two years, Scott Johnston has served as the Assistant Principal at the alternative education campuses in Sherman ISD. During his tenure, he served as the Hearing Officer for the secondary level campuses, worked towards restoring adjudicated teens through the Grayson County TEAM Court, and built a strong rapport with both Sherman High School and Piner Middle School staff and students.
Mr. Johnston is entering his twentieth year in education. He taught high school English in both Lancaster and Grand Prairie ISD's, middle school English and Media Journalism in McKinney, and was an elementary Assistant Principal in Anna for 3 years. He also has over 20 years of experience coaching both boys and girls in football and basketball.
Mr. Johnston earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a Secondary Teaching Field in English from the University of North Texas. He then went on to earn his Master's Degree and Administrators Certificate from Lamar University.
Mr. Johnston enjoys developing both students and teachers into future leaders. He is excited to join the Bearcats and looking forward to helping carry on the great traditions of the Sherman community and build many more generations of Bearcats.
