Partners in Education Programs
Adopt-A-School partners create an ongoing relationship with a single SISD school that benefits the school, staff, families and/or campus as well as the partner. It includes a commitment of time, energy and expertise of a business or organization of at least one school year.
SISD Partners is designed to help create a mutually-beneficial relationship between a business or organization and the district to provide schools and community entities an opportunity to share resources. Partnerships are designed to be dynamic, innovative and rewarding. The overall goal is to create a relationship that is highly responsive to the needs of the partner and the district to the benefit of all.
Provide one-on-one support to a Sherman ISD student that needs a caring adult in their life. Big Brother Big Sisters matches community volunteers with SISD students. Mentors offer friendship, ongoing guidance, help improve self esteem and academic assistance while broadening their perspective. Community members can volunteer to be mentors by applying to be a Big Brother or Big Sister through BBBS, committing to being screened by BBBS and SISD, agreeing to mentor for at least one year and meeting with your student once a week for 30 minutes on school grounds.
SISD Partners and Adopt-A-School participants are eligible to take part in the SISD Employee PERKS program. As one of the largest employers in Texoma, Sherman ISD employees have a lot of purchasing power. Feature your business through the SISD PERKS program—discounts and offers exclusively for Sherman ISD employees when they visit your business and show their SISD employee badge. (SISD Employee PERKS applications are made available to approved Adopt-A-School and SISD Partners.)
