The 2023 bond program was developed by a community-based Long-Range Facilities Planning Committee. This committee was charged by the Sherman ISD Board of Trustees with developing a recommendation that would:

• Prioritize the needs of ALL Sherman ISD students

• Instill community pride and encourage community partnerships

• Enable students to receive an excellent education in innovative and contemporary instructional spaces that focus on:

  • Providing a safe and secure educational setting for students and staff

  • Addressing educational capacity due to continued growth

  • Improving operational efficiency of all facilities

The 2023 Sherman ISD Long-Range Facilities Planning Committee was composed of community representatives with various perspectives, including parents, grandparents, business leaders, students, civic leaders, volunteers, retirees, educators, and SISD alumni.

• The Committee spent its time reviewing and analyzing the aspects, histories, and projections of Sherman ISD’s immediate and long-term needs, with thorough discussions including:

  • Demographics

  • Community growth and enrollment patterns

  • Tax impact scenarios

  • District finances

  • Educational programs

• During the process, all committee members were presented with an opportunity to express their opinions, suggestions, and recommendations that ultimately resulted in the plan for SISD Bond 2023
