I am excited to be your assistant principal at Washington Elementary. I grew up in the small East Texas town of Joaquin and have lived in the North Texas area for the last 19 years. 

I began my teaching career in 1997 at Marsh Middle School in Dallas ISD as a 7th grade English teacher. In 2002, I moved back to East Texas where I taught 6th and 7th grade reading and writing for Nacogdoches ISD. In 2005, I moved to McKinney and taught in Allen ISD. During my time with Allen, I taught 5th and 6th grade ELA/SS, 1st grade, and served as a Campus Intervention Specialist. In 2021, I was given the opportunity to work in Sherman ISD as an assistant principal. 

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Masters of Elementary Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and a  Masters in Educational Administration from University of North Texas. 

At Washington, we pride ourselves on achieving academic, social and emotional growth for all students. I look forward to working together to positively and successfully navigate our students' journeys. 

Personally, I currently reside in Sherman with my husband, Richard. Together, we enjoy traveling, cooking, spending time with family, and taking spontaneous road trips.
