Mr. Steven Traw

Welcome to Dillingham Elementary School, and thank you for visiting our website. Dillingham Elementary is a special place for our students to learn and grow. We are proud of our school and have high expectations for each and every student. Our students and staff are kind, compassionate, and resilient. Together, we strive to make connections with students to ensure our Lions feel valued, accepted, and safe.

Dillingham Elementary was established in 2021, as we transitioned our campus from an Intermediate School to a K-5 elementary in the 2021-2022 school year. We consider the Lion as our school mascot, and refer to our school family as the Pride. Our proud school colors are Blue, Gold, and White.

Our school’s Mission, We are dedicated to building a school community that inspires confidence, collaboration, and risk taking supports our Vision that Dillingham Elementary will be a collaborative learning community that empowers students to be successful in an innovative world. Our collective commitments focus on advocating for students, championing a growth mindset, building meaningful connections, honoring the process of learning, and respect and support for one another.

We are a highly diverse campus of approximately 850 students that serves families from the Austin College Area (East Sherman), as well as students from South/SE Sherman. Dillingham is proud to host several special programs, such as Dual Language Program for Spanish language students, as well as a couple of self-contained Special Education programs. We are excited about the development of our STEAM program, and are planning to grow into a STEAM Academy.
