The mission of the Sherman ISD Police Department is to effectively and efficiently provide for the protection of lives and property, preserve the public peace, and with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards, provide the central and campus administration specialized services, strengthening their ability to prepare students for the challenges of the future. It is the goal of the Sherman ISD Police Department to educate and defer students away from the criminal justice system, whenever possible and allowed by law.

These values can be placed into three broad groupings:

1. A commitment to the advancement and protection of the democratic process.
2. A striving for the highest levels of integrity and professionalism.
3. An effort to provide quality police service that will include maintaining a safe environment conducive to learning and contributing to the educational process.
