Degrees and Certifications:
So in case you're wondering, here's a little something about me...
I graduated with highest honors from Texas A&M-Commerce in 1999, earning a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with an English specialization. After my first three years as a classroom teacher, I left Dillingham to stay home and raise my growing family. Six kids and 17 years later, I returned to the same campus, after having homeschooled my own children through their elementary and middle school years. Now my two oldest daughters both live in Austin, where one teaches 8th grade math and the other studies computer science at the University of Texas... HOOK 'EM! When I'm not teaching or working on something for school, I love reading, playing board games, and watching movies.
As a 6th grade math teacher at Dillingham, my goal is to open my students' eyes to the fact that the world is a classroom, every day brings opportunities for learning and growth, and the glass is never half empty. It's always full... of something. As a former kid who thought she wasn't all that great at math, I am intent on equipping other kids to wrestle with problems, think creatively and critically, and use what they know to find out what they don't.
