Educating Texas..........one child at a time!
The Sherman Independent School District has a Child Find system for
identifying, locating and evaluating all children with disabilities (from birth through
21), residing in the District, including children with disabilities attending private
schools, regardless of the severity of their disabilities, and who are in need of special
education and related services. The parent, child, relative, educator, or community
member may refer a child to be considered for services through the school district.

Special Olympics is made possible in Sherman through the Sherman
Independent School District.
We are very appreciative that our district supports the Special Olympics Program.
Our Mission is to provide sports training and athletic competition in a
variety of athletic events for students with mentally or physically challenges. Students
are given the opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy
and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families and
other Special Olympic athletes. Special Olympians participate in local, area, and state
meets.
