- How to Request Services
  

A student's need for special education services is considered through a pre-referral process called Student/Teacher Assistance Team (STAT).  School personnel, parents, or community agencies may initiate referrals.  Questions regarding referrals should be addressed to the SISD campus counselors. 

All students referred to special education can be provided a full and individual evaluation (FIE).  Upon completion of the evaluation, the Admission, Review, and Dismissal Committee (ARD), composed of parents/guardians, school personnel and other members, establishes eligibility, develops an Individual Education Plan (IEP) and determines the least restrictive and most appropriate instructional arrangement for the student.
