| TAPS Park and Ride |
TAPS Public Transportation and
Sherman ISD are now partnering to provide a free park and ride to the home football games.
Three TAPS buses run continuously from 6:30 p.m. through midway of the first quarter to
provide rides to Bearcat stadium from a variety of locations. The seven locations and
order of pick-up include, building formerly La Independencia (Travis), American Bank of
Texas (Washington and Travis), Sherman Public Library, Kelly Square, First Baptist Church,
SISD Administration Building, and Chase Bank. Pick-up and drop-off will cover the home and
visitor entrance gates. The buses hold approximately thirty people and plan to arrive
every 6-8 minutes at the pick-up locations. The return routes will begin running near the
end of the fourth quarter and continue until all are delivered back to their cars. SISD
Superintendent, Dr. Al Hambrick indicated that SISD is grateful to TAPS for this new
partnership and hopes this will provide a good community service and eliminate some of the
parking issues for stadium games. This service will assist Sherman fans as well as our
visitors. |
