Sherman High School held their annual homecoming festivities last week including a parade, themed dress-up days, the Homecoming Revue production, the crowning of the homecoming queen and king and finally, the homecoming dance. This year’s leadership class chose to add a new event – the election of a homecoming king. “We were not sure if it would go over," shared SHS student body president Jordan Hancock, "but it has been a hit with just about everyone. Some of the guys have liked the attention!” When king nominee Geoff Hooker was asked his opinion on the matter, he said, “I think my mom has had a lot of fun with this, and I have, too, but my focus is winning the game more than winning the crown!” And that is similar to what Coach Kinne shared, “The football players who were nominated have had a good time with this, but most of all we are fired up to win the football game!” Top left: Homecoming nominees Megan and Jarred wave to fans at the annual parade while riding in a 1956 Bel Air driven by Megan’s father William.
