During the Grayson County Fair
last Friday, first grade students throughout the district were treated to educational
entertainment and lots of fun. The program included Tharpo the Clown, who convinced even
the most timid students to laugh, catfish swimming in a large pool, art and crafts, safety
education and self defense by Rick Arnold, a demonstration by the crash dummies which sent
a strong visual message on the importance of seat belts, a cow milking demonstration, the
Capuchin monkeys from Venus, Texas, and the all-time favorite petting zoo. Shown here is
Wakefield first grade student Kathryn Wood at the petting zoo with 4-H vet-science program
member, Paige Coffman. Paige is holding Mozart, a four year old mini-lop rabbit.
