Students in Ricky Wilsons
science class constructed a multitude of cell designs using food to symbolize the parts of
the cell that they had just learned. The grocery store and kitchen cabinets were the limit
when it came to all the different foods the students used to reinforce scientific terms.
Can you find the cytoplasm and nucleus in Daniel McClendons pizza cell? What about
the vacuole and endoplasmic reticulum in Eddy Reynosas cake cell? Students labeled
each part and shared the information with the class and then they just dug in! No one
reported getting sick from eating their cells!
