The Fairview PTA members had a lovely idea. “Why not enlist the help of parents and students to bring some Valentine love to people at local nursing homes?” Setting up the meeting time for 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening, The PTA parent in charge of the project, Roslyn Flemings, was pleased with the participation. “When we can bring parents and children together for such a worthwhile activity we are accomplishing much. The turn out was great and everyone seemed to appreciate the opportunity to help. The goal was to involve students and parents in giving to others – bringing sunshine into the lives of some of our local nursing home residents, and what elementary student doesn’t love to make Valentine hearts?” Roslyn left the gathering with a bucket load of delightful homemade Valentines and tray decorations for some lucky nursing home residents.
