Sherman School Board Member
Charles Leslie is presently an Enrollment Advisor at Grayson
County College, where he is responsible for the colleges African American
Recruitment Program.
After his honorable discharge from the Air Force in April 1977,
Charles worked on the Alaskan pipeline until he made the decision to pursue his
Bachelors Degree in Christian Education and Pastoral Ministries from Alaska Bible
College. He then entered Dallas Theological Seminary where he received his Masters
Degree Bible Exposition and Urban Studies.
Raised in Philadelphia, PA, Charles moved to Sherman Texas in
1999 with his wife Wanda and their two children - son Charles III (17) and daughter Taylor
Nicole (15). Charles is also currently the pastor of Community Baptist Church.
Charles volunteers in many areas of the local community:
- Served on the SISD Community Taskforce
- VP of the Sherman Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance
- The Educational Chair for the NAACP
- Member of the Al Hambrick All-Star Basketball Foundation
His free time is spent fishing, traveling, kite
flying, painting, golfing, experiencing cultures, training/teaching/speaking.
