 Debbie Burnett Sherman School Board Member Debbie has been a Registered Nurse for 27 years and is a Certified Nurse of the Operating Room. She currently works at the North Travis Ambulatory Surgery Center, and she works PRN at Wilson N. Jones Hospital. She and her husband, Zach, have 4 children: Kari (25), Kayla (23), Keith (19), and Kelsi (16). She began her term on the school board in May, 2005. Debbie has actively volunteered in the Sherman ISD for the past 17 years serving as PTA President at Wakefield Elementary, Dillingham Intermediate, and Piner Middle School. She also co-chaired Sherman High School’s “Alcohol and Drug Free” Senior Prom in 2003. Debbie received Region X’s Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented “Parent of the Year” Award in 1994. She currently serves on the Board for the Sherman Education Foundation, and she is a member of the Sherman High School PTA, the Sherman Athletic Booster Club, and the SHS Cheerleaders Booster Club. Debbie attended Texas A&M University and graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She and her family have resided in Sherman since 1982. They attend St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sherman. |
