Zena Wood has been a counselor here at Sherman High
for two years. Before she became a teacher, she was a newspaper reporter. Mrs. Wood has
taught English, speech, and yearbook, and has also worked as a Community Relations
Director for a small school district in Wyoming. Mrs. Wood was orginally born in Andrews,
TX, but grew up in Odessa and is a graduate of Permian High School. She attended college
at Odessa College, Utah State University, and University of Texas of the Permian Basin. "Teaching is a noble profession. I was
fortunate to have some extraordinary teachers in my life who made a tremendous impact on
me. I wanted to give back what was given to me." When asked if she could teach
anything or anywhere, she replied "I have learned to be happy where ever I am, but I
have never been happier than I am now. I love being a counselor at Sherman High." |
