Zena
Wood has been a counselor here at Sherman High since 2004.
Before she became a teacher, she was a newspaper reporter covering
educational issues. Mrs. Wood has
taught English, speech, and yearbook, and has also worked as
a Community Relations Director
for a small school district in Wyoming. She was born in Andrews,
TX, but grew up in Odessa and graduated from Permian High
School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English as
well as
a Master of Arts in Educational Counseling from the University
of Texas of the Permian Basin.
In
addition to individual, educational, and career counseling,
Mrs. Wood is responsible for the sophmore level TAKS testing,
serves on the GT Committee, and coordinates the Needlework
Guild services for all grade levels at the high school. In
addition, Mrs. Wood is the PSAT testing coordinator and the
foreign exchange student counselor.
