These
guitar classes are offered on alternating years. Guitar I is
for beginning guitar players who have never played guitar,
or can play but can’t read guitar music. Students will
learn to pick, chord, and play the ‘pima’ (finger
picking) styles of guitar. Guitar II students advance to more
complicated solo and ensemble literature and will compete in
UIL solo/ensemble contests with guitar trio or quartets. Both
of the classes also perform in 3 or more scheduled concerts
per year.
