Prerequisite : None
Accounting provides an understanding of sole proprietorships. Students
learn to manage personal records and to keep a simple set of books. Emphasis
is placed on recording and interpreting financial papers. The course includes
an introduction to accounting, beginning principles, terminology, books
of account, business forms, income tax and payroll deductions, depreciation
and debt, trial balance, balance sheets and statements.

Prerequisite : Accounting I
In Accounting 2, students will apply the basic accounting concepts to perform
advanced accounting procedures. Accounting knowledge will be used to make
business decisions, and students will research career opportunities in
accounting.

Grades 9-12 Spring Semester ½ credit
Prerequisite : May not have received credit in Accounting
I or concurrently enrolled in Accounting I Develops understanding of and
skill in maintaining accurate records; includes skills used in everyday
business activities, both for personal and professional use; provides an
opportunity to develop skills related to personal financial management
as well as budgeting, financial planning, cashier’s records, handling
of money, and tasks common to simple office practices.
