The Sherman Education Foundation hosts the Circle of Success event to honor outstanding
students and staff of the Sherman ISD. The
students are selected on the basis of their character, leadership and service to their
community. The honored students then nominate
a teacher from K-12 who was influential in
their school career. The honored students and
their teachers are presented a medallion at a dinner event in the Spring that is attended
by their families, sponsors and school personnel.
This event is unique because campus personnel submit project
proposals for funding. The board members of
SEF request sponsorships from corporations, businesses, and individuals that are used to
fund the campus projects. The students and
teachers select projects that are given in their honor, thereby completing the Circle of
Success program. In 2007, over $50,000 was
raised for campus projects with more than $650,000 raised for campus projects since 2001.
