The Sherman Education Foundation believes that through the strength of community
partnerships we can continue to ensure the future of the Sherman area and its students by
providing educational opportunities that lead to more successful students and educators.
Since 2001, the Sherman Education Foundation has fostered this belief and celebrated our
districts excellence at the annual Circle of Success event.
As we recognize the Tenth Anniversary of the Circle of Success, the conviction of the
Sherman Education Foundation to continue provide educational opportunities outside of the
normal educational sphere remains paramount. These enriching opportunities are exactly
what ignite young minds to explore, create and learn about the world from a perspective
they might otherwise never experience. Our goal is to continue to maintain an enlightening
and innovative learning experience for our Sherman ISD students.
During the past nine years, 68 remarkable Sherman High School students have been
recognized for outstanding character, leadership, and service while 48 dedicated educators
have been honored by those students for their motivational inspiration. Additionally, more
than $780,000 has been raised to fund 216 innovative campus projects district wide.
In order to fund the project requests that are submitted by campus teachers and staff, the
SEF board members request sponsorships from corporations, businesses, and individuals and
those sponsorships are used to fund the campus projects. In 2009, over $45,000 was funded
for very worthy campus projects.
All of our sponsors are encouraged to attend the Circle of Success Recognition Event that
will be held this year on Thursday evening, March 11th. The evening is always an
insightful time of student success stories, as well as an opportunity to pay tribute to
the exceptional educators they have selected.
If you or your organization is interested in ensuring the impact of future innovative
projects on our students, we encourage you to join us by becoming a Circle of Success
sponsor. Kathy Bickerstaff, Executive Director of the Sherman Education Foundation can
