Student Technology Applications
Second Grade

The second grade year provides opportunities for children to:

  • Insert and resize a graphic from a file (i.e. CD-ROM, teacher created file) to illustrate a story or concept.
  • Create, save, and receive a document to express ideas using temporary spelling in a word processing, drawing, presentation, or graphics program. Example: The document should contain a paragraph of more than three sentences. Each sentence should start with a capital letter, end with appropriate punctuation, and have appropriate spacing between words and sentences.
  • Plan and create a class multimedia story. Each child will create one slide, which includes both graphics and text.
  • Use correct placement for keyboarding.
