What is a Plug In?
Basically, a plug-in is program that
can easily be installed and use as part of your Web browser.
The SISD Technology Department
recommends having the following Plug-In programs on your computer: Macromedia Flash,
Macromedia Shockwave, Adobe Acrobat Reader, QuickTime, and RealPlayer. Of course
this is not an exhausted list. Often times, if a specific Plug-in is needed for a
particular web page, the web page will say so and give a link so you can download the
Plug-in.
If you are a Netscape user, you can
see what Plug-Ins you already have by following these steps: 1. Click
"Help" from the main toolbar. 2. Click "About Plug-ins" from the
menu. You should now see a page displaying the Plug-ins already installed on your
computer.
