Elementary schools nationwide collect money for the American Heart Association by coordinating a Jump-Rope-For-Heart event. The money collected helps fight diseases of the heart and blood vessels. A main goal is to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. During our JRFH event, students collect flat donations and perform numerous jump rope tricks for parents, family members, friends and teachers. Some of the cool tricks performed are the leg over, can-can, grapevine, peek-a-boo, wounded duck, behind the back cross, criss-cross, 180 & 360, front and side straddles, bell, skier, front kicks, twist, heel-to-heel, toe-to-toe, fling & Irish fling, swing kick, X to side-straddles, double side rope swing, single side rope swing criss-cross, double under, speed jump, and heel-click. JRFH is a common bond for all of our students, their families and our community. JRFH is not only rewarding but FUN !!! In each grade level the 3rd highest money collector received a $10.00 gift card to Wal-Mart, 2nd received a new Hands-On Basketball, 1st received a fishing pole, and the top money collector for the school gets a fishing trip with the P.E. coaches!
