Retired in 1993 from Oscar Mayer Foods in Sherman,Texas.
My wife Joan retired as a Registered Nurse from Medical Plaza Hospital. We had four
children, but this last Oct.1,2000 we lost a 44 yr. old son from Heart surgery and
complications afterwards. We love retirement and the traveling and other things we enjoy
doing. We have truly been blessed and are thankful for each day the Lord gives us. Would
enjoy hearing from any of my class mates from the 1954 class.

I have retired as President and Chief Operating Officer
of Crump Insurance Services, a nation wide insurance brokerage firm as of April 1.
Semi-retired is a better description however, as I serve on the Board of Directors of a
small insurance company in Atlanta, GA, on the Board of Trustees of Austin College and
teach 3 times a year in insurance industry schools. My wife, Betty, and I live in Dallas
and have two children and five grandchildren. I enjoy e-mail correspondence with several
fellow Sherman High School classmates and we often have dinner with John Woodward (1954)
and wife Jacqueline.

I finished college at Sam Houston State in 1978 with an
BFA in Theater. Received an MFA in Theater from U. of Houston in 1980. Taught theater arts
at McCullough HS in Conroe ISD for four years and taught English and theater arts in the
Klein ISD for ten.
I married James D. MacKie in 1994. Our children are Craig Ellis High, Jeana High Rodgers,
Robb Steere MacKie, Eric Morris High,Ross Grady High, and Maria Elise MacKie. We have
seven grandchildren. Jim and I are on the road half of the year in our 37 foot
Mountainaire motorhome. We
love the NW; Oregon, Washington, and northern California and also NE Canada; the Atlantic
Canada provences. We also travel from child to child...one in California, one in Nevada,
three in Texas, and one in Maryland.
We stay busy in Pueblo volunteering. Jim is with the Optimist Club and the Red Cross. I
play bridge every week. I am currently working on a book on my family genealogy, which has
become an all consuming hobby. Together Jim and I are involved in the Scottish Military
Society and he
is commissioner of the MacKay Clan for Wyoming, Colorado, and NM. We participate in about
six Scottish games a year. We stay busy and have fun.

Just wanted to thank each of you that visited, sent a card, flowers or made a
donation. My mom loved her class and never tired talking about you all. You were special
to her and will always be special to her children.
